Action Taken...Cruise Moved to Fall......Springtime in Paris A Fantasy

Husband is getting irritated and twitchy. Last night after dinner, he suggested that I use one of our many cookbooks to find recipes that work. My dinner flavors were competing with each other, he who could be behaved thinks. He hurt his shoulder days again, using a mall chopping wood. I hope this too will pass.
I exercised and meditated this morning. Stuff my head out the door, and have spent a pleasant day with my embroidery project. Finished all my letters. Onward, we go forward.
Cabin Fever can get ugly. Don't try it at home. Try only at luxurious 4 star hotels with room service, spa and heated indoor pool.  Yes, I will have my cocktails on the patio, thank you very much, my good man.
No music today. Just the happy goldfinch families setting up their nest.
Neighbor just dropped off home cooked bean. Yum. We sat on the deck six feet apart and laughed our brains out. What a relief.
Our tree frogs are chirping and doing their thing.

It is past 5:00 pm, I just came in side. I was on the decks listening to two Bard Owls communicating
their desires to hook up. Make a life. Make a commitment. Plan our future.

It was a little over the beginning of the Self Contment Era.  About three weeks ago. The Corona Virus was in Washington State. Several senior citizens had died from the disease.

Back to present time, The previous tenants were also owls.  The Great Horned Owls had fledged their young.  Previous to the fledgling,   the owls spent hours and hours teaches their young how to hoot.
Is can be very funny. First you hear a good hoot, then a sputtering hoot. This back and bak goes on for hours until at long last the owls are quiet. Silence. Gone. Time for them to leave the nest and go to the deep forests.

After the shut downs, bars and restaurants, barber shops, malls, some parks, and national parks...after that I run scared. I really did. run and act scared. I meditated, exercised, did needlepoint, walked down to Whites Bridge and walked to listen to the tree frogs in the verial pool.  They are loud, boisterous, and comical in one package. In one complete package.

I also checked on the perennial herbs, and gardens. It is just still too chilly at times and wet to clean up the garden beds.

Today , we walked Julia Bird Reservation.  Old growth trees, river, and horse. How could you go wrong. Beautiful ...also it has one donkey, and vernal pools with those noisy wood frogs in heat. Singing love songs to all the girls, walking their tails to show off how long it is.

Had a relaxing time ..came home and relaxed a bit.  Then the golden hour of light started. Those mellow shadows were building on the shed, the deck, the trees, and my soul. Oh how I love that light.

Tonight it was another great light dusk. I started shooting my camera and saw buds trying to open on the trees. The tips were dark and waiting to burst out.   It was that moment, that exact moment that I knew I was going to relax and get through the Virus timeline.

This is huge for me. To start full breathing again and go forward  each day. Those my hands and body into soil. Cleaning time is almost here...just around the corner the weather will be kind and I will be outside...

What was she thinking?

Meet Anna Milhender, my father's mother. She was a very strong russian woman who knew what direction she was going in until she moved to the US and married the wrong man. She had been born in Russia, she was Jewish,  and some way she got out. Don't know the true story.

Her husband had died and she and two young children got on a boat to america. Things must have been tough for her. Her eldest daughter who at the time was under ten years old, was placed in an orphanage. My father was sent up to upper state New York near Albany with relatives he did not know. Anna went looking for a man to bring her family back together.

Just wanted to let you know how things are going here. 28th day of March 2020

Music

MoodSwing, Joshua Redman Quartet

Mood Swing perfect for a beautiful spring day. I sat outside with the chatter of the birds. All different sounds in my backyard. Cardinals, owls, and titmice.  All having reunions with old friends and buddies all coming back for a party cause it is spring. Those birds are cool dude.
I on the other had, I am uncool. Been uncool my entire life. I was always the odd one, shy one, the one who never did connect with people. I felt more comfortable to be alone around people.

I tried so hard to be cool. Just never reached that status. Now I am over 70 and an uncool lady living with her equally uncool husband. We are quiet people. We enjoy conversations, if both parties are listening and participating. So many people never have learnt good listening etiquette.

You don't fill out a new room with noise. Walk into a new room, new people, new situation with your listening ears on. Concentrate on what you hear around you. If you hear some intelligent conversation, move in that direction ....slowly...listen, think, and then ...and only then talk.
A conversation is two ways. It is not about  you. Even if you are bubbling up with talk, stop and listen.
That is it.
These are a few thoughts for day.

One tip for the day, never post weird pictures of yourself on the internet.

Staying Home For The Good of The Nation

Sunday....Rain all day, heavy, mist, back forth.
Jazz night in America is on....
Jazz...Live at Lincoln Center Rene Marie.....oh lordy it is good.

Watched a documentary about the mounting and preparing for The Invasion of Normandy.

march 31...Corona Madness....New York City Has Huge Problems

I am glad that my mother, who was born in New York City is not with us anymore.
She was a New Yorker at heart.  Years ago, we have a great black out in the NorthEast Us.
Since we had no news, we thought it was a local black out. When Dad's transistor radio announced that New York  City was in total blackout my mother stated yelling that the communist were behind this event. It took her a few hours to relax. Only a true New Yorker  could feel the passion for their city.
I live in Essex  County, Massachusetts. We have lots of preserved, open space. Wonderful ocean walks at Plum Island. I love where I live because of the open space.

Music Spirit Medicine Healing Songs-Lakota

Restarted my exercise routine this morning. Will walk later today. Working on my spiritual heart today. My mind is calm and needing a reboot. What was important one month ago, is trivial now. The new normal has set in.

My new normal is being home with my hubby and cat.  We both have our routines, and we both keep very busy. Our spirits are high and our hopes are even higher.

We watch the news, but have to give it a time limit. Very overwhelming. Very Scary. Very Sad.
We have lost control of our old normal. The new normal is like learning how to ice skate the very first time. One step at a time. Slowly. Fall, get up and repeat.
